Despite a small change in our itinerary due to a mechanical problem, we had a quite splendid day out, starting with an unexpected visit to Samlesbury Hall, then on to Barton Grange where we had delicious fish and chips and time to explore the garden centre. The day was completed with a trip along the Lancaster Canal on a narrow boat. Well done to the organisers - the last-minute hitch didn't spoil the day at all.
